Humi-Zyme RX(tm) Pasture - and "Amazing Green Blob" Update! From Dynamite Gold Director Judy Sinner, Selah, WA

These are photos of my newly seeded horse paddock, the first one taken in July and the second in August. It was seeded on June 5, and photo 1 was taken on July 17! This area was fairly heavily treated with Humi-Zyme RX in March of 1999, and has not been treated since, basically it was a worn out paddock that had been overgrazed, then trampled into dust and weeds a couple of years ago. I thought it would be nice to get it greened up again before the Seminar here on July 15, but then procrastinated all spring about getting the seed on, so I figured the most I could hope for in less than 6 weeks was a little growth so it was not just unattractive bare dirt. Wrong! As one local hay farmer said, "You seeded it WHEN??!" After this first photo was taken on July 17, I had it mowed down to about 6" on July 24 to knock back a few weeds, and then took the next photo 21 days later on August 14 with my 23 year old mare in there as a point of comparison to reference the regrowth and height. To have a horse actually in there grazing and not pulling up the roots is highly unusual just 9 weeks after seeding, too. I used just a whiffle of NPK fertilizer, about a quarter of the recommended level, in a whirlybird hand spreader at the time of planting, and that is it. Needless to say, I am rather impressed! Obviously the HZ application a year and a half ago got the soil microbes really going, and they have been sitting there quietly building incredible soil and waiting for something to be planted.

And, in this same time line, here is yet another picture of the famous "Amazing Green Blob" in my neighbor's pasture. This one taken in early August, 17 months after the initial and only Humi-Zyme RX spray (cleaning the pump, actually) on this small area, and with no water for that whole time. Like the Energizer Bunny, this stuff just keeps going and going............

And, the Amazing Green Blob in August 2000, 17 months after the only
HZ spray, with no irrigation of the pasture in all that time. Other than the
sprayed area, the pasture has all gone to cheat grass.
